Protect Your Minecraft Server from Grief in 2026
Minecraft anti-grief guide: CoreProtect, GriefPrevention, WorldGuard. How to prevent and undo grief on your server.
What is griefing
Griefing is when a player deliberately destroys, steals, or vandalizes another player's work. Inevitable on a public server, but mitigable with the right tools.
CoreProtect
The #1 anti-grief plugin. CoreProtect logs everything: blocks broken, placed, containers opened. The command /co rollback u:Username t:1h undoes all actions by that player in the last hour.
GriefPrevention
Players claim their land with a golden shovel. No one can interact in a protected zone without explicit permission.
WorldGuard
For spawn, admin shops, event zones. You define regions with flags (no PvP, no block-break, etc.).
Backups
Even with these protections, keep backups. FreeMCHost performs them daily.
