15 Best Minecraft Server Plugins (2026)
The plugins every server needs in 2026 — anti-grief, economy, world edit, voice chat, claims, and more.
The essentials (install these first)
### 1. EssentialsX The Swiss army knife — homes, warps, kits, /tpa, /msg. If you install one plugin, install this.
### 2. LuckPerms Modern permissions manager. Groups, inheritance, per-world permissions. Required by most other plugins.
### 3. CoreProtect
Logs every block placement, break, and chest interaction. One /co rollback recovers from grief in seconds.
### 4. WorldEdit Massive build operations — copy regions, paste schematics, smooth terrain. Essential for staff and builders.
### 5. WorldGuard Define protected regions where blocks can't be broken, mobs don't spawn, PVP is off. The grief-protection workhorse.
Community + economy
### 6. GriefPrevention or Claims One-command land claims for players. Massively reduces the need for moderation.
### 7. Vault + EssentialsXEcon Economy backbone. Plugins like Shops, Jobs, Auctions hook into Vault to share a single balance.
### 8. Jobs Reborn Players earn money by mining, farming, hunting. Adds a soft progression loop.
### 9. DeluxeMenus GUI builder for menus, shops, info pages. Lets you build a polished hub UI without coding.
Quality of life
### 10. ViaVersion + ViaBackwards + ViaRewind Lets players on older or newer Minecraft versions connect to your server. Reduces the "wrong version" drop-off.
### 11. ChunkyPregenerator Pre-generates the world in advance so players don't lag the server by exploring new chunks.
### 12. DiscordSRV Bridges in-game chat to a Discord channel — see also our [DiscordSRV setup guide](/blog/configure-discord-minecraft).
Cool extras
### 13. Simple Voice Chat Proximity voice chat in vanilla Minecraft (server-side mod, no client mod required for many configurations).
### 14. Dynmap or BlueMap Live web map of your world. Players love it, staff use it to track grief.
### 15. PlaceholderAPI Lets every other plugin display dynamic values (balance, rank, kills) in chat, scoreboards, GUIs.
Installation reminder
All of these are .jar files. Drop them in plugins/ from the FreeMCHost file manager, restart. Most generate a config on first start — edit, reload, done.
